Proposed county budget includes pay increases for all employees

Posted

The Carroll County Quorum Court Budget Committee has completed work on the county’s 2026 operating budget, committee chair Craig Hicks said last week.

As part of the proposed budget, all county employees will receive a 4 percent pay increase, with the exception of detention officers and dispatchers, who will receive a $1.25 per hour increase. Hicks said the $1.25 an hour increase will make salaries for detention officers and dispatchers. more competitive with surrounding agencies.

“I’m proud of all the elected officials for being great stewards of the County’s tax dollars,” Hicks said. “This is the second year in a row we’ve been able to propose a 4 percent raise for county employees while continuing to take care of the citizens of Carroll County.”

Hicks also recognized committee members Matt Phillips, Kellie Matt, Hunter Rivett and Jerry King and County Clerk Connie Doss for their dedication throughout the month of October as they worked through the budget process.

The proposed budget will be presented to the full quorum court for final approval.
