The Berryville Bobcats suffered another hard-luck loss on Friday, April 21, as the Greenland Pirates pushed across a run in the top of the seventh inning and held on to beat the Bobcats 7-6 at the Berryville Sports Complex.
Berryville led 6-2 after four innings before Greenland scored three times in the top of the fifth inning and added a single run in the sixth to tie it up.
Greenland scored the go-ahead run on a two-out single in the top of the seventh, then retired the Bobcats in order in the bottom of the inning to finish the victory.
Chris Hipps and Ashton Blok each had two of Berryville’s six hits, with Blok and Aspen Linz driving in two runs apiece. Linz also scored twice.
Berryville played Huntsville on Monday in the first round of the district tournament.
