Pilot unscathed after emergency landing

Posted

The pilot of a small plane that made an emergency landing on the afternoon of Wednesday, Oct. 26, near Carroll County Road 933 was not injured during the incident, according to the Carroll County Office of Emergency Management.

A news release from county OEM director Mike McKelvey said county dispatchers were notified by the Air Force about a possible plane crash at 3:29 p.m.

The first emergency personnel arriving at the scene found the plane and the male pilot, who was uninjured. The plane, a 2005 single-engine Piper, is registered to a company based in Harrison. McKelvey’s news release said the pilot was trying to return to Harrison when he had to execute an emergency landing because of mechanical issues.

The Arkansas State Police, Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, Alpena Fire Department, South Carroll County Fire Department, Southern Paramedic and Carroll County OEM all responded to the scene.
