District Mission: Ensuring high levels of learning for everyone, every day!

Bobcat families and community members, How can we already be finished with the first nine weeks of school? Don’t forget to join us for parent-teacher conferences on Thursday, October 17, from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Our mission is to ensure all students are learning and that should be the focal point of the conferences. We also guarantee that specific interventions will be in place if your child needs extra support. If you need more information about what your child is learning or the intervention services, ask during conferences. If you are attending conferences at the high school, be sure to check out the new school store — The Ville — for its grand opening during conference hours. Mr. Tim Vantuyl, teacher and DECA sponsor, and his students have worked diligently this year to get The Ville up and running.

Berryville Middle School has started a Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) organization under the leadership of teachers Sandon Williams and Johnice Glisson. Currently, BMS FBLA has 69 members.

“We met for our first meeting last week to discuss the mission of FBLA which is to ‘inspire and prepare students to become community-minded business leaders in a global society through relevant career preparation and leadership experience.’ We also discussed Chapter Officers and are currently accepting officer applications through Monday. Next week, we will be electing a President, Vice President, Secretary, 8th Grade Representative, 7th Grade Representative, and a 6th Grade Representative,” Williams said.

Competition preparations will begin soon and qualifying students could compete at the state and national level. FBLA members will also be planning a Community Service Project for the year. Keep an eye on the new FBLA chapter! The students and teacher sponsors have a great year planned.
