No-hitter lifts GF to victory

Posted

The Green Forest Tigers only had three hits in Friday’s road game against Yellville-Summit, but that was plenty.

Pitchers Kasen Robinson and Mason Meador threw a combined no-hitter with 14 strikeouts and the Tigers took advantage of 10 walks and a pair of Panthers errors to cruise to a 6-0 victory.

Green Forest scored two runs in the top of third inning on a fielder’s choice and a passed ball. The Tigers made it 3-0 in the sixth on an RBI single by freshman Ryne Stone, then scored their final three runs in the seventh on a pair of bases-load walks and a hit batsman.

Robinson struck out eight batters while walking two in five innings of work before Meador finished up with six strikeouts and two walks over the final two innings.

Green Forest will close out the regular season Friday at Jasper.
