Nelson “Pete” Peterson Jr. of Holiday Island, Arkansas, born Feb 28th, 1938 in Weston, West Virginia to Nelson L. Peterson and Daisy Lucile Forinash, passed away on June 25th, 2023, in Springdale, Arkansas after a short battle with cancer, at the age of 85.

Pete has reunited with his beloved wife, Patsy P. Peterson, who passed 13 years ago. He is survived by his children, Christopher A. Peterson and Tammy M. Peterson, his daughter-inlaw, Marlene A. Peterson and grandchildren, Cameron Peterson, Kayla Nealy, and Nicholas Nealy.

He was a great husband, father, grandfather, and protector. He was raised by his grandmother and entered military school at a young age where he eventually joined the service as a 182nd airborne paratrooper. He served his country and was honorably discharged.

Pete was a salesman his entire life and enjoyed the company of people. He could talk to anyone and relate to everybody. He spent many years travelling and touching lives. He was the real deal when someone said Pete would do anything for anyone. His honor was his word, he always kept his promises. He loved wildlife and nature and was always curious about animals.

Special thanks goes to the Holiday Island Community where Pete met most of his closest friends over the last 20 years. He always said Holiday Island was a special place and rightfully so. Most of the community knew Pete from the Holiday Island Country Club where he worked as a go-to for many things. He loved playing golf and was one of the best around. Pete was a coach, mentor, confidant, and most of all a friend to everyone.

Rest In Peace Dad! “It is not length of life, but depth of life.”
