Posted

The Carroll County Office of Emergency Management announced Friday afternoon, Oct. 28, that the body of a 59-year-old fisherman from Green Forest had been recovered from the Long Creek area of Table Rock Lake, one week after family members called 911 to report him missing from the lake near Enon.

The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office identified the man as Jerry Fultz.

Mennonite Disaster Services, the Oak Grove Fire Department and dive team, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office and Carroll County OEM responded to the area and located the man’s boat near the Long Creek Arm of Table Rock Lake. His phone and personal belongings were still in the boat, but he was not located.

Crews searched the surrounding area using sonar, air support, K-9s and personnel in the water.

The man’s body was recovered in approximately 6 feet of water, according to a news release from OEM. He was not wearing a life jacket at the time of the incident.

In the news release, OEM encouraged all boaters to wear lifejackets while on the water.

Other agencies assisting in the search effort included the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, Harrison Fire and Rescue, the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, the Newton County Sheriff’s Office, Omaha Fire Department and numerous local volunteers.
