Green Forest senior left-hander Mason Meador faced 16 batters in the Tigers’ 12-0 victory at Lincoln on Friday, April 11. He struck out 15 of them.
Meador, whose bid for a perfect game was undone by an error, settled for a five-inning no-hitter as the Tigers topped the Wolves. He threw 61 pitches, 49 of them for strikes.
Lincoln’s only base runner reached in the bottom of the fifth inning when a popup was misplayed. A wild pitch moved him to second base, but Meador struck out the final three Lincoln batters to complete his masterpiece.
The Tigers didn’t need much offense, but Meador chipped in there as well, driving in a pair of runs on two hits and scoring twice. Ryne Stone had three runs batted in for Green Forest on a pair of hits and also scored twice. Zeke Harlan also drove in three runs for the Tigers, while Radon Lawrence had three hits and scored three runs. Jace Meador, Mason’s younger brother, had three hits and drove in a run.
Green Forest will play at Huntsville on Tuesday, April 15, before traveling to Berryville on Thursday, April 17.
