Marianna Semenets was born February 22, 1992, in Volochysk, Ukraine to Igor and Angelica Vasiion. She passed away on September 30, 2025, in Springfield, Missouri at the age of 33. She is survived by her husband, Dmytro (Dima) Semenets; her parents, Igor and Angelica; and brother, Eugene Vasiion, and the many who loved her.
Marianna grew up full of energy, determination, and light. As a little girl, she loved fairy tales, music, and dancing. Later, she studied at the University in Ternopil, and joined a student exchange program in Poland. It was during these years that she met Dima. Their wedding was a true celebration of love and joy. And their life together was just like their wedding – full of love, journeys and dreams come true.
By God’s grace and with the support of Samaritan’s Purse and Grandview Baptist Church, Marianna and Dima were able to begin a new chapter in America.
For her, it was like a fairy tale, where she felt happy and full of life. For all who knew her, Marianna will remain an example of how to love life and how to find joy in everyday moments. Her ability to be happy with small things was contagious for everyone around her. She reminded us that we cannot postpone life until tomorrow – the most important things happen here and now. Her smile, her light, and her love will always be with us.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Grandview Baptist Church with Pastor Billy McCall officiating. Burial will follow at Fair Grove Cemetery.
