Loyd Ray Dowell of Holiday Island, Arkansas was born May 8, 1951, in Eureka Springs, Arkansas to Albert Newton and Sarah Annabelle (Trammel) Dowell. Loyd passed away Saturday, July 2, 2022, in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, at the age of 71.
Loyd was a true family man who enjoyed hunting, fishing, grilling, and outdoor activities. He was always working on something.
Loyd is survived by his daughter Miranda Dowell and grandson Caleb Jones of Eureka Springs, Arkansas; siblings Shirley Pouncey of Pea Ridge, Arkansas, Sharon Jones (Darrell) of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, Joyce Griffith of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, Isabelle Harris (Brent) of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Bobby Dowell (Kari) of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Marvin Dowell of Eureka Springs, Arkansas; hunting buddy and nephew Travis Dowell; as well as many other nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and friends.
He is preceded by his parents Albert and Sarah Dowell.
A Memorial Service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Nelson’s Chapel of the Springs. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service. Online condolences may be sent to the family at nelsonfuneral.com.
