Lincoln overpowers Berryville

Posted

The Berryville Bobcats ran into another talented conference opponent last week as Lincoln jumped out to a quick early lead and went on to a 54-14 victory over the Bobcats on Friday, Oct. 27, at Bobcat Stadium.

Berryville played without junior quarterback Decimus Ruiz, who missed the game with a bruised thigh.

Sophomore Hunter Rankin started at quarterback for Berryville and threw a touchdown pass to senior Lucas Pierce for the Bobcats’ first score.

“Offensively, we saw a little bit of a spark with our young quarterback,” Berryville coach Macklin Chermak said. “It was a great learning experience for a lot of our offense. We moved some kids around. Defensively they did a great job executing the game plan but maybe not executing the tackling.”

Senior Zane Gentry also saw time at quarterback for Berryville, throwing a touchdown pass to junior Cooper Summers.

Berryville will travel to Green Forest on Friday to finish the season in the annual Carroll County Super Bowl.
