Larry Junior Birchfield, a devoted family man, passionate outdoorsman, and dedicated servant to his community, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2023, in Bentonville, Arkansas. Born on October 15, 1953, in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, Larry’s life was marked by unwavering kindness, intelligence, and faith.

Larry was the beloved son of the late John D. and Dorothy (Dowell) Birchfield. He was a cherished brother to Lana Gordon and her husband Tony. Larry’s deep-rooted love for his family was evident in his devotion to his wife, Cathey (Collins) Birchfield, and his three daughters, Melissa Casey and husband Charles, Carrie Pittman and husband JR, and Krista Beck and husband John. His greatest joy was being a grandfather to Clinton Summers, Brett Summers, Renee Pittman, Madison Beck, Camryn Casey, Rilee Pittman, Aubrey Beck and Reese Pittman.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, John D. and Dorothy Birchfield; wife, Cathey (Collins) Birchfield; and his brother, Danny Birchfield and his wife Nelva.

Larry’s professional life was characterized by his skill and dedication as a carpenter. His craftsmanship was admired by many and his work is a testament to his meticulous nature and attention to detail. Larry was not just a man of action, but also a man of service. He served his community as a board member of the Towering Oaks Church, where he was a beacon of faith and a pillar of strength.

Beyond his work and service, Larry was passionate about his interests.

He had a fondness for his Chevy Malibu, which he loved driving and tinkering with. In his younger years, Larry was an avid hunter and fisherman, relishing the time he spent in the great outdoors of Arkansas. His love for nature was only surpassed by his love for his family, who were the heart of his world.

Larry Birchfield was a faith-filled man who approached life with kindness and intelligence. His unwavering faith was a guiding light in his life and an inspiration to those around him. His kindness was legendary, impacting everyone he met and leaving a lasting legacy in his community. Larry was a man of great intelligence, using his wisdom to guide his family, support his community, and excel in his professional life.

Larry’s life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and dedication. His memory will be cherished by his family, friends, and the community he served so faithfully. His legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of those who were fortunate enough to know him. Larry Junior Birchfield will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire and guide us.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 14, 2023, at Towering Oaks Church, with Bro. Larry Montgomery and Pastor David McMellon officiating.
