First games can be learning experiences. That was certainly the case for the Berryville girls soccer team.
After opening the 2023 season with an 8-0 loss to Life Way Christian on Tuesday, March 7, the Lady Bobcats showed significant improvement in a 1-0 loss to Springdale Har-Ber’s junior varsity on Thursday, March 9.
“We made some changes,” Berryville coach Aaron Hall said. “We moved people around, changed some formations, did this and that. I went back to the drawing board on some things.”
The changes produced positive results for the Lady Bobcats.
“We played a lot better,” Hall said. “We had several kids play really well.”
Hall said senior goalkeeper Avery Bell “played outstanding.”
The Lady Bobcats had several opportunities to score, Hall said.
“The last 10 minutes of the game, we probably had the ball in the box five or six different times,” he said.
Berryville hosted Green Forest on Monday. The Lady Bobcats’ game against Springdale, scheduled for Thursday, has been moved to March 29.
