The Berryville Lady Bobcats took control early and went on to defeat the Green Forest Lady Tigers 50-34 on Tuesday, Nov. 15, at Bobcat Arena.
Berryville did most of its scoring in the first half, as the Lady Bobcats raced to an 18-3 lead by the end of the first quarter and extended their advantage to 33-16 by halftime.
Freshman Kaylyn Smith scored six points in the first quarter for Berryville, while seniors Hannah Youngblood and Mia Thurman and sophomore Kynadee Hopper added four points each in the quarter.
A three-pointer by sophomore Alivia Norris accounted for Green Forest’s only first-quarter points.
Youngblood finished with a game-high 16 points while Thurman scored 13, Smith had 10 and Hopper added nine.
Green Forest sophomore Melody Taylor led the Lady Tigers with nine points, all in the fourth quarter. Norris added eight points and junior Virginia Gonzalez scored six for Green Forest.
On Friday, Nov. 18, Berryville lost to visiting Harrison, 49-34. The Lady Goblins led 31-17 at halftime.
Youngblood made five three-pointers, including four in the first half, and led Berryville with 19 points.
Berryville will play in a tournament at Blue Eye starting Monday, Nov. 28.
