The Berryville Lady Bobcats picked up their first victory of the 2023 softball season on Friday, March 10, defeating Flippin 22-8 at the Berryville Sports Complex.
Berryville coach Arel Ferguson was naturally pleased with the win, especially with her team’s offensive output.
“It’s a big deal to be able to produce runs,” Ferguson said. “We’ve got a bunch of freshmen and they were able to figure out ways to get on base.”
Senior Ava O’Gorek just missed a home run, Ferguson said, when a ball off her bat hit the top of the outfield fence and bounced back into play.
Berryville will host Green Forest on Tuesday. The Lady Bobcats are scheduled to play at home Thursday against West Fork but Ferguson said that game might be rescheduled because several Berryville players have other commitments this week.
