Two local high school graduates in the Class of 2025 are heading toward bright futures with a little help from a beloved hometown business.
Kerusso, the Berryville-based Christian apparel company known nationwide for its inspiring messages, has awarded its annual $1,000 scholarships to Luke Dignan of Berryville High School and Elijah Redmon of Eureka Springs High School.
The Larry Wicker Scholarship, established in 2005, honors the legacy of Larry Wicker, a favorite teacher of Kerusso founder and CEO Vic Kennett during his time at Eureka Springs High School. The award supports graduates pursuing education or certification through trade school or community college. This year’s recipient, Elijah Redmon (not pictured), will attend Spartan College of Aeronautics & Technology to complete the aviation flight program.
The Kerusso Scholarship is presented each year to a Berryville High School senior who maintains a 3.0 GPA or higher, participates in FBLA, FCCLA or FCA, and plans to study business or ministry. Luke Dignan, this year’s honoree, will attend North Arkansas College this fall to pursue a degree in architecture.
Kennett, a 1981 graduate of Eureka Springs High School, said these scholarships are a meaningful way to invest in local students’ futures: “Berryville and Eureka Springs are where our roots run deep. Supporting young people as they take their next steps is one way we can give back to the communities that have given us so much.”
