Two juveniles involved in a fight at the Green Forest High School graduation on May 18 have written public letters of apology for their roles in the incident.
Apologies
Editor’s Note: The following unsigned letters were written by two juveniles who were among the people involved in an incident at the Green Forest High School Class of 2024 graduation ceremonies on Friday, May 17.
Dear Class of 2024 of Green Forest High School, I want to sincerely apologize about the situation that happen[ed] on May 17, 2024. I know things could have went different, but they didn’t so the only thing I can do now is be held accountable for my actions and face my consequences. I really don’t have a lot to say but sorry to the students, staff and my parents.
From now on I will make smart choices and stay away from trouble and not pick a fight or be in a fight. Forgive me class of 2024 and parents for this memory that will live in your head forever. I hope you guys accept my apology hopefully we can move on from this.
• Dear graduate[s], parents and teachers, I realize that your graduation was ruined due to a fight that happened on a night that you worked so hard for. However, the fight started is not important. What’s important [is] that you know how extremely sorry I am for my part in that. I know that does not make up for what happened on your special night, but I hope you can find forgiveness in your heart. I would also like to add that moving forward this has taught me to think before acting.
