Green Forest freshman Ywa Hay Moo put on a show at the 3A-1 junior high district track and field championships on Wednesday, April 17 at Lincoln High School, winning four individual events and running a leg on one first-place relay team to lead the Tigers to a district title.
Moo won the 100- and 200-meter dashes, the 110-meter hurdles and the long jump. He also helped Green Forest won the 4X100 relay, took fourth place in the high jump and ran away with high-point honors for the meet.
He wasn’t the only Green Forest athlete to bring home an individual district title. The Tigers’ Shar Shee Doh Moo won the 300-meter hurdles while DJ Rang took first place in the pole vault and Grady Massengale won the discus.
On the girls side, the Lady Tigers’ Avaley Gardner won the 100-meter hurdles.
Green Forest’s Brandon Perez took second place in the boys 200-meter dash and third in the 100-meter dash and the triple jump. He was fourth in the 400.
The Tigers’ Kason Compton was second in the shot put. Massengale was second in the 800-meter run, fifth in the 1,600 and sixth in the high jump.
Jahdiel Manuel was third in the 800 and fourth in the 1,600. Rang was third in the long jump and fourth in the 300-meter hurdles. Kier Lah took third place in the discus. Tayshaun Turner finished fifth in the long jump and Shar Shee Doh Moo was fourth in the pole vault and fifth in the triple jump.
The Tigers finished second in the 4X800 relay and third in both the 4X200 and the 4X400.
On the girls side, Gardner was second in the 100-meter hurdles. Mistie Hughes was third in the pole vault. Madison Book finished fourth in the discus and Valery Quiroz was fourth in the 1,600-meter run and fifth in the 800. Adria Gordon finished fourth in the high jump and fifth in the long jump. Grace Smith was fourth in the pole vault. Emely Lopez took fifth place in the 300-meter hurdles. Jocybed Garcia finished fifth in the discus.
