The Berryville Bobcats junior high boys basketball team continued its outstanding season with a pair of conference victories last week.
Berryville won 34-20 on the road Pea Ridge on Thursday, Jan. 11, then defeated Gravette 47-23 on Saturday, Jan. 13, at Bobcat Arena.
On Friday, Jan. 5, Berryville defeated Gentry 4916 at Bobcat Arena.
The Jan. 13 win over Gravette pushed Berryville’s record to 15-3 overall and 6-1 in conference play.
BERRYVILLE 49, GENTRY 16 Berryville outscored Gentry 22-4 in the first quarter and coasted to the victory behind 23 points from Carson McMellon.
McMellon made seven three-pointers, including four in the first quarter. Altogether, the Bobcats hit 10 shots from three-point range.
Hudson Norris added nine points for Berryville.
BERRYVILLE 34, PEA RIDGE 20 The Bobcats used a balanced offense and a stingy defense to get past Pea Ridge.
Berryville led 8-0 at the end of the first quarter and 16-6 at halftime.
Carson McMellon, John Butler and Jachin Houghton scored eight points apiece for the Bobcats.
BERRYVILLE 47, GRAVETTE 23 The Bobcats took control early, outscoring Gravette 13-2 in the first quarter.
John Butler and Mason Zogleman scored 10 points each for Berryville, with eight of Butler’s points coming in the first quarter.
Jachin Houghton added nine points and C.T. Hicks scored eight for the Bobcats.
