Posted

Green Forest’s junior high football team opened its 2023 season with a 36-6 victory over visiting West Fork on Thursday, Aug. 24, at Tiger Stadium.

Ywa Hay Moo rushed for 112 yards and a touchdown on three carries and returned a kickoff 71 yards for another score.

Brandon Perez added 118 yards and a touchdown for Green Forest, which finished 313 yards and four touchdowns on 18 running plays.

The Tigers are running the Flexbone offense this fall and although they didn’t have an official passing attempt against West Fork, two touchdown passes were wiped out by penalties.

“We can throw it if needed,” Green Forest coach Daniel Fitts said. “But we will continue to go to our strength which is running the ball and winning the time of possession stat.”

Jace Meador and Samuel Lopez also scored touchdowns for Green Forest, which will play at Greenland on Thursday, Aug. 31.

Green Forest’s seventh- grade team beat West Fork 14-6.
