Jimmie “Jim” Rex Wisdom of Berryville, Arkansas passed away on Monday, June 24, 2024, at the age of 79 in his home with his wife by his side.

Jim was born on June 21, 1945, in Green Forest, Arkansas to Dennis and LaVeta Rob-inette Wisdom. He was one of eight children – Jackie, Sue, Jean, Mary Ann, Barbara, Carolyn and Randy. By God’s grace, he somehow convinced Loretta Williams- Wisdom to marry him on July 23, 1966. Together they had three sons, Jamie, Rex and Chad.

Jim served in Vietnam as an E-4 in the U.S. Army Infantry. He was honorably discharged after being wounded in action and received a Purple Heart among other military honors.

He is preceded in death by his father, Dennis Wisdom; his mother, LaVeta Standlee; and his step-father, Nathan Standlee; his son, Jamie; his sisters, Carolyn, Sue and Jean; and his brother, Randy.

He is survived by his wife, Loretta Wisdom; sons, Rex and Chad Wisdom; his favorite (and only) daughterin- law, Lisa Wright-Wisdom; his grandchildren, Chelsey Parker-Hill and husband Aaron Hill; Allison Wisdom, his great-granddaughter, Madison Hill; his brother, Jackie and wife Nadine; his sisters, Mary Ann, Barbara and husband Eddie; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Jim was loved by all that knew him – and he never knew a stranger. He was known for his generosity and orneriness. Jim loved his family, the great outdoors, plaid button-down shirts with two pockets, and SPAM Ham. But most of all, Jim loved the Lord and telling others about his faith. His favorite chapter was Psalms 23. Many cannot imagine a world without Jimmie Wisdom in it.
