Inas Marie Walker of Berryville, Arkansas was born September 23, 1924, in the Snow community near Berryville, to George and Mattie Perdue and passed away peacefully at her home near Metalton, Arkansas, at the age of 98.
She enjoyed her cattle and maintained a herd well into her mid-nineties. Neighbors always said she had the fattest cows in the country. At 90 she still operated the headgate at calf vaccination time. Marie was of the Baptist faith and a devout Christian. She was a member of Mizpah Rebekah Lodge 41.
Marie is survived by her daughter, Loretta Hoeffner (Frank) of Berryville; son, Gary Walker of Vicksburg, Mississippi; grandchildren, Dawn Pawlow of Cumberland, Mississippi, Ethan Walker of Collinsville, Mississippi, and Rea Lynne Williamson of Mountain Home, Idaho; six great-grandchildren.
Survivors also include special caregivers, Lisa West and Rachel Karnes; loving neighbors and friends, Loren Teague, Greg and Melinda Gifford, Marty and Darlene Strough.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Mattie Perdue; husband of 45 years, Otis D. Walker; two brothers, Lonzo and Rit Perdue; two sisters, Ona Jennings and Gladys Shaw; daughter-in-law, Katherine Walker; and special friend John Mitchell.
