The Eureka Springs Highlanders weren’t especially sharp offensively in their first game back from the Thanksgiving break, but they were effective enough to beat Decatur 53-30 on Tuesday, Nov. 29, at Highlander Arena.
“We struggled to score,” Eureka Springs coach Brian Rambo said. “We just didn’t shoot it well and we were really rusty and just sort of out of sorts. But we played a really good third quarter and kind of put the game away. Ugly win.”
Senior center Shane Holloway led the Highlanders with 21 points and 13 rebounds.
“Shane probably had his best night of the year,” Rambo said.
Junior guard Michael Lester added 17 points and seven rebounds for the Highlanders.
Eureka Springs’ girls defeated Decatur 3513.
Eureka Springs will be on the road twice this week, playing at Haas Hall Bentonville on Tuesday and at Greenland on Friday.
