Hal Fredric Kennelley was born on October 19, 1935, in Oak Grove, Arkansas, the son of Letha Fox. Hal was preceded in death by his mother. Hal passed away at the Circle of Life Hospice Center in Springdale, Arkansas, on March 22, 2023, at the age of 87.

On April 13, 1952, Hal married his high school sweetheart, Joanne Ruth Gerlick in Vade Cedillos Chih. Mexico. Hal was a devoted Christian with a strong servant’s heart. During his life in Arkansas, he was an active member of the First Christian Church of Berryville, Arkansas and the First Christian Church of Rogers, Arkansas.

Hal loved his family. Hal and Joanne had three children: Cathy Davis of Rogers, Arkansas; Mike Kennelley (Wife Mary) of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; and Linda Cudney (Husband Charles) of Fayetteville, Arkansas. Hal and Joanne also had seven grandchildren: Kristie Davis Needham, Tameron Cudney Bishop, Paul Cudney, Nikki Kennelley Mulford, Katie Kennelley Gibbs, Kristin Kennelley Jones, Jennifer Kennelley Chandler. Hal and Joanne were also blessed with 13 great-grandchildren.

Hal began his professional career as a Barber in Baldwin Park, California in 1956. Hal had a gregarious personality and entertained his customers with lively stories. Hal continued working as a barber a_er relocating with his family to Berryville, Arkansas in 1965. In 1973, Hal began his career as a very popular realtor/ broker opening Circle K Realty. Hal served as Mayor of Berryville, Arkansas beginning in 1981. Berryville was recognized as a City of Distinction in the state of Arkansas under Hal’s leadership. In 1983, Hal and Joanne relocated to Rogers, Arkansas where he continued to enjoy serving others as a realtor for 30 years.

Hal was heavily involved in volunteering to serve others through his church and civic organizations. Hal could be seen handing out Bibles on college campuses through the Gideons International Club; working at the Grubs Food Pantry at the First Christian Church; working with Special Needs children through his Kiwanis club; and many other service opportunities through the Lions Club. Hal also enjoyed sharing his expertise in technology with any organization or individual he knew was in need.

A Celebration of Life Service with a reception following will be held on Friday, March 31st, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church of Rogers, Arkansas (905 S. 13th Street, Rogers, AR). Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m., Sunday, April 2, 2023, at Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel in Berryville. Arrangements under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
