The Green Forest Tigers have an open date on Friday, and it comes at a good time after last Friday’s 51-9 loss at Greenland dropped the Tigers to 0-2 this season.
The Tigers’ offense continued to show flashes of potential, but Greenland capitalized on turnovers and penalties to limit Green Forest to a field goal by Jesus Romero in the first half. Senior quarterback Isaiah Fraga’s 22-yard run in the second half accounted for the Tigers’ only touchdown of the game.
Greenland, meanwhile, relied on the passing of quarterback Max Meredith to score early and often. The Pirates (1-1) have scored 89 points through their first two games of the season.
Green Forest will have two weeks to prepare for its next game, Sept. 16 at Cedarville.
