Green Forest’s Reyes puts on a show at Goblin Relays

Green Forest’s Arauny Reyes had quite a day at the Goblin Relays on Thursday, March 28, at Harrison.

Reyes, a junior, won the 800-, 1,600 and 3,200-meter runs as the Tigers finished fifth among 15 teams competing in the boys’ division.

Green Forest sophomore Gabe Serna finish fourth in the 110-meter hurdles and sixth in the 300-meter hurdles. The Tigers’ Isiah Lopez was sixth in the discus and Green Forest took second place in the 4x400 relay.

On the girls’ side, Green Forest junior Lydia Russell won both the 100- and 300-meter hurdles, took second in the long jump, finished third in the 100-meter dash and the triple jump and was fifth in the 200-meter dash.

Green Forest’s Emily Sales finished third in the 800-meter run, fourth in the 1,600 and sixth in the 3,200. The Lady Tigers’ Carmen Garcia finished eighth in both the 800 and the 1,600, while teammate Mariana Ortega was ninth in the discus.

Berryville won the boys 4X400 relay, finished second in the 4X200 and 4X800 and took third place at 4X100.

The Bobcats’ Kale Smith finished second in the 100-meter dash and seventh in the triple jump.

Berryville’s Oliver Beamis was third in the 110-meter hurdles, while Noah Houghton finished fourth in the 300-meter hurdles and fifth in the 110-meter hurdles. Malachi Houghton was fourth in both the 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs and seventh in the 800-meter run. Lane Carman was fifth in the 400-meter dash and ninth in the 200-meter dash, with Alex Esparza taking sixth place in the 100-meter dash. Gabriel Wall was seventh in the 300-meter hurdles, one spot ahead of teammate Nathan Ross.

Berryville sophomore Hailey Howerton finished second in the girls 100-meter hurdles and fourth in the 300-meter hurdles. Classmate Kaylyn Smith was third in both the 400-meter dash and the high jump, fourth in the triple jump, eighth in the 200-meter dash and ninth in the 100-meter dash.

Sophomore Chaney Fairweather was fourth in the high jump, sixth in the 400-meter dash, seventh in the triple jump and eighth in the long jump. Junior Sophee Bartos was fourth in the discus and eighth in the shot put while sophomore Ella Miller was fifth in the discus and seventh in the shot put.

Junior Bella Knapp took fifth place in the 3,200-meter run and sixth in both the 800- and 1,600-meter runs. Classmate Astralia Amos finished seventh in the 1,600 and ninth in the 800.

Freshman Haliegh Keith was sixth in the long jump and seventh in the high jump. Sophomore Cara Summers was seventh in the long jump and junior Clara Pusch was eighth in the triple jump.

Berryville’s girls were second in the 4X400 relay and third in the 4X800.

Eureka Springs freshman Addie Blackwelder finished fifth in the girls high jump and the Lady Highlanders were fifth in the 4X100 relay.

Berryville finished fourth in the boys division and third on the girls side. Green Forest’s girls took fifth place.
