Posted

Folks in Green Forest know all about Ashley Farrar’s skills on the basketball court.

So do folks in Arkadelphia.

Farrar, a 2019 Green Forest High School graduate, set the career scoring record for Henderson State University during the Lady Reddies’ 75-69 victory over Southeastern Oklahoma State on Thursday, Jan. 18, in Arkadelphia.

Farrar scored a game-high 23 points, including a three-pointer with 4:44 remaining in the second quarter to set the HSU career record with 1,659 points.

A 5-11 guard, Farrar added to her record-setting career with 22 points in a victory over East Central on Saturday, Jan. 20. On Monday, Jan. 22, Farrar was named the Great American Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season.

In 113 games at Henderson State, Farrar has averaged 14.8 points a game, including 19.3 points a game last season and 18.9 points a game so far this season. She has made 192 career three-pointers.

Farrar is the daughter of Kyle and Amanda Farrar. Kyle Farrar coached Ashley at Green Forest and is now the girls basketball coach at Eureka Springs.
