Green Forest splits twinbill with Bergman

The Green Forest Tigers split a doubleheader against Bergman on Monday, March 27, bouncing back from an 11-4 loss in the opener to win the nightcap 15-5.

Green Forest did the bulk of its damage in the third and fourth innings, scoring a combined 14 runs after falling behind 2-0.

Sophomore Brityn Gilliam drove in four runs for the Tigers with a tworun single and a pair of bases-loaded walks. Tristan Burgess had two RBI for Green Forest while Braden Epperly scored three times and Isaiah Fraga had two of the Tigers’ seven hits and scored twice.

Isaac Kennedy was the winning pitcher for Green Forest, allowing one hit while striking out four batters in four innings.

Green Forest hosted Lead Hill on Monday. The Tigers will play at Berryville on Thursday.
