Grandma’s House gala scheduled April 2

Grandma’s House Children’s Advocacy Center will hold its Child Abuse Prevention Gala at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 2,at the Signature Tower Ballroom in Harrison.

“Our Grandma’s House community stretches from Berryville and Harrison all the way to Mountain Home and we cannot wait to see what happens when we all gather together for an evening of inspiration to continue our good fight,” said Grandma’s House executive director Michelle Steiner.

The Grandma’s House Gala will feature a silent auction filled with local, handcrafted items, a dinner catered by Jamie’s Creative Catering and awards for a beloved donor pair and a passionate multi-disciplinary team member. Harrison Police Department detective Cpl. Ted Schaeffer will offer remarks on behalf of Grandma’s House and Alpena’s Ally Napier will be the featured victim speaker. This year’s awards will be going to Crimes Against Children Division of Arkansas State Police investigator Laura Lyn Terherst, and the donor award will go to Stephen and Judy Dostie of Harrison.

Tickets at $30 a plate — or a table for eight for $250 — can be purchased online at www.grandmashousecac. com. There is also an option to donate via a ticket purchase online for those who cannot attend.

This will be a semi-formal event and updates for it, along with sneak peeks of auction items, can be found on the Grandma’s House Facebook page and on their website. Grandma’s House Children’s Advocacy Center is a nonprofit whose mission is to serve the child abuse victims and non-offending caregivers of its core counties: Baxter, Boone, Carroll, Madison, Marion, Newton and Searcy. It offers four primary services — advocacy, forensic interviews, pediatric trauma medical exams & Trauma Focused Therapy — free of charge for children ages 0-18. It opened in 2010 in Green Forest and now has locations in Berryville, Harrison, Mountain Home and Huntsville.
