Posted

The Friends of the Berryville Library invite area golfers to Fore!Word: A Friends of the Berryville Library Fundraiser, a three-person scramble golf tournament benefiting the new Berryville Library. The event will take place Saturday, April 25, with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. at the Carroll County Country Club. Hosted by the Friends of the Berryville Library and presented by Business Friends Jo Ann Clark State Farm Insurance and Nabholz, the tournament promises a fun and competitive morning for avid golfers.

Participants will enjoy a variety of exciting features, including a cash purse, 50/50 raffle and contests for longest drive and closest to the pin. Registration fees are $60 per player for club members and $80 per player for nonmembers, with golf carts available for $20. All players will be treated to a delicious carnitas burrito lunch thanks to new library business neighbors Taqueria El Guerito and Rancho Latino.

The Friends also thank their Bestseller Sponsors: Bank of 1889, Brashears, Ozark Lakes Family Dentistry and Tonya Williams Shelter Insurance; and Bookmark Sponsors: Carroll County Republican Women, Island Airco, Montgomery Whiteley Realty, Pam and Johnnie Curtis and Williams Realty.

Registration is open now. Teams can sign up by texting team names to Dave at 479-2445387 or by emailing player names to friends@berryvillelibrary.org. For golf-specific questions, participants are encouraged to contact the Carroll County Country Club at 870-4233280 and leave a message.

“The Friends are excited to host Carroll County golfers and greatly appreciate the support of the Carroll County Country Club tournament committee in helping us put on this event,” said Elaine Floyd, president of the Friends of the Berryville Library. “Their passion for golf equals our passion for books and lifelong learning. We’re going to have a great morning of golf and look forward to hosting our new golfing Friends!”

Proceeds from the event will directly support the new Berryville Public Library, helping expand access to resources, programs and lifelong learning opportunities for the community.
