Green Forest School District special education students got a big treat last week with a bowling outing. According to Trish Evans, the district’s special education director, 38 students in grades K-12 competed in the annual bowling tournament. With parents and district staff also participating, a little more than 100 people were involved in the event, Evans said. “Divisions are broken down by gender and age groups, 5-7, 8-15 and 16-21,” Evans said. “In addition, we have two different bowling categories, ramp bowling and traditional bowling. The entire administration team bowled alongside the students in their designated teams.” Awards were handed out by superintendent Matt Summers and a pizza party followed to celebrate the accomplishments, Evans said. “We got to bowl with the kids and it was a really cool situation,” Summers said.
