Brayden Compton scored 20 points and Hesten Maybee added 16 as Green Forest defeated School of the Ozarks 54-46 on Friday, Dec. 8, at the Grim Gym.
Brayden Compton also had 11 rebounds for Green Forest, which shot 51.2 percent from the floor.
“We struggled a little bit,” Green Forest coach Shane Compton said. “I think we had a little hangover from the game we played the night before against Blue Eye.”
Green Forest lost to Blue Eye 64-58 in the 67th Annual Green Forest Holiday Tournament, sponsored by Anstaff Bank. Brayden Compton had 21 points and seven rebounds in that game, while Sebastian Holsted added 14 points and Zak Watson scored 11 points and grabbed seven rebounds.
On Monday, Dec. 4, the Tigers lost to Huntsville 77-46 in the first round of the holiday tournament. Green Forest trailed 48-18 at halftime. Watson led the Tigers with 13 points and Holsted added 10.
Green Forest opens conference play at home Tuesday night against Lincoln, then travels to West Fork on Friday.
