Geneva Mae (Alvard) Scarrow was born March 1, 1943, in Brooklyn, Arkansas to Willis Lee and Susie Jane (Edmondson) Alvard. She departed this life on April 4, 2024, in Fayetteville at the age of 81.

She married the love of her life, John Charles Scarrow on October 14, 1960, in Blue Eye, Arkansas. Mae loved her family and friends. She enjoyed going to yard sales, watching westerns on TV and sitting on her porch. She was employed by the Razorback Gift Shops for 18 years and made a lot of lifelong friends there.

Mae was hired by the Berryville School District in 1997. She loved everyone at the school, and they loved her. Mae always had a kind word, a shoulder to cry on and a listening ear. She was always ready to meet you where you were. She was also the treasurer for Rock Springs Church for several years.

She made a huge impact on everyone she met and will be greatly missed.

Mae is survived by her children, Angela Scarrow of Berryville, Donald (Teffany) Scarrow of Berryville, Jenson (Haley) Scarrow of Green Forest, Susie Mae Scarrow of Eureka Springs; grandchildren, Misha (Matt) Plumlee of Oak Grove, Jayden (Kayley) Scarrow of Mountain Home, Jaydon Meyer of Tulsa Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Braydon and Reagan Scarrow of Green Forest, Denton and Jackson Plumlee of Oak Grove, Charles Hawkins and Remington Blanchette of Green Forest; brothers, Abe Alvard, Bill (Connie) Alvard of Green Forest, Chod (Shirley) Alvard, Ralph (Ginger) Alvard of Berryville; sister, Betty (David) Anderson of Berryville; brothersin- law, Bob (Freida) Scarrow of Booneville, Roy (Linda) Scarrow of Berryville; sister-in-law, Dorothy Moore of Eureka Springs; aunts, Bertha Boehm, Lousie Small of Washington State; along with many nieces, nephews, other family members and a multitude of friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Susie Alvard; husband, John Scarrow; granddaughter, Kesha Scarrow; brothers and sisters- in-law, James and Mary Ann Scarrow, Merle Moore, Carl and Betty Ambrose; nephews, Michael, Derrik, Daniel, Chris Alvard and Clifford Robinette.

Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at Freeman Heights Baptist Church with Pastor Joe Summers officiating.
