Friends of the Berryville Library host Easy as Pie Thanksgiving Pie pickup sale

Posted

The Friends of the Berryville Library’s Easy as Pie pickup sale will help make your Thanksgiving a breeze.

Pie buyers will be able to order from a selection of more than 50 pies made by volunteer bakers. Flavors available feature perennial holiday favorites: pumpkin, pecan, sweet potato, and apple.

The cutoff date for orders will be 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, and buyers can pick up their pies from the library on either Tuesday or Wednesday, November 24 and 25. Supplies are limited. Order early to be sure to get your preferred flavor.

Volunteer baking is a longstanding tradition for the Friends of the Berryville Library. As Friends board member and baker Karen Johnson explains: “I started baking for the library when Carol Ann Engskov was the Friends president. I knew that it was important to her to keep the tradition of bake sales. Now it’s important to me too! We’ve managed to raise quite a bit of money for the library over the years with the bake sales.”

Loretta Ross, who also regularly volunteers to bake, also recognizes the fundraising support that baking provides the library. Ross says, “I bake to support the efforts of the fundraising committee in their creating opportunities for giving to the Berryville Public Library building fund.”

All proceeds will benefit the Friends of the Berryville Public Library, who are currently raising money to furnish the new library building. Order forms will be available starting on Friday, Nov. 7, at the library. For more information, please contact the library at 870-423-2323.
