Temperatures in the single digits with wind-chill factors below zero made for a frigid weekend across Carroll County, with snow-covered streets making travel difficult.

Higher temperatures are in the forecast, with the thermometer expected to climb above the freezing mark on Wednesday, Jan. 17. According to the National Weather Service, Wednesday’s high temperature is expected to be in the upper 30s with sunny skies, although Wednesday night’s low is forecast in the mid-20s.

On Thursday, the high temperature is expected to reach 40 degrees, but colder air is forecast to return Thursday night with a low around 10 degrees and wind chill values as low as 5 below zero after midnight.

Friday’s high temperature is only expected to reach the lower 20s before falling to a low of around 10 degrees overnight.

Temperatures are expected to reach the lower and mid-30s over the weekend, with lows from 15 to 20 degrees.

No precipitation is expected for the next several days, according to the NWS forecast.
