Freddie Mae Massengale of Alpena, Arkansas was born in Batavia, Arkansas on May 12, 1933, to Fred and Fairy (Magness) Smothers. Freddie passed away November 15, 2022, in Harrison at the age of 89.

She was a member of the Green Forest United Baptist Church for many years. Freddie enjoyed cooking Sunday dinners for her family it was like _anksgiving every Sunday. She also liked sewing, doing ceramics, working, riding 4-wheelers, but most of all her love of her family.

Freddie is survived by her children, Joyce Scitern and husband Jerry, James Massengale; grandchildren, Melena Davis and husband James, Mitchell Scitern and wife Amanda, Chris Massengale and wife Miranda; six great-grandchildren; soon to be four great-great-grandchildren; sister, Joy Molder and husband Sam; sisters-in-law, Faye Smothers, Linda Smothers; along with many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Fairy Smothers; husband, Fred Massengale; brothers, Sonny Smothers, Kenny Smothers; infant sister, Bobbie Smothers; infant great-great-granddaughter, Tessa May Cross; brotherin- law, Roy L “Pence” Smith.

Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. till 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 18, 2022, at Nelson’s Green Forest Chapel in Green Forest. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 18, 2022, at Nelson’s Green Forest Chapel with Bro. Jerry Scitern and Bro. Mitchell Scitern ociating.
