Frances Louise (High) Sooter of Berryville, Arkansas was born in Oak Grove, Arkansas to Dolph and Thelma Marie (VanWinkle) High. Frances passed away Sunday, July 10, 2022, at her home in Berryville surrounded by loved ones, at the age 89.
Frances loved to spend time with all of her grandchildren which gave her great joy. She also enjoyed gardening and would have a large garden every year filled with all kinds of vegetables. She was a lot like her mother, she would try to feed anyone who stopped by. She loved to be outside taking care of her garden and plants. Her passion however was oil painting. She would paint whatever would catch her eye, landscapes, flowers or even animals.
Frances is survived by her daughter Stephanie Hart and her husband Doug, son Stephen Sooter and his wife Alecia, all of Berryville, Arkansas; sister Lula Wheatley and her husband Johnie of Texas, brother Ronald High and his wife Betty of Berryville, Arkansas; grandchildren Ashley Simmons, Justin Hart, Nicole Floyd and her husband Matt, Heather Shimandle, Aaron Hart, Jesse Sooter and his wife Alisha, Levi Sooter, Micah Sooter and his wife Madison; great grandchildren Madelynn, Blake, Ava, Landon, Garrett, Randall, Delson, Atticus; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends who will miss her greatly.
She is preceded by her husband Loren Elbert Sooter, her parents Dolph and Thelma High, her brother Ferman High and his wife Imogene, three nephews Denny High and his wife Kitty, Randy High, and Ricky Wheatley.
Visitation was 9:00 a.m., Thursday, July 14, 2022, at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel in Berryville. Funeral service was 10:00 a.m. following visitation with Pastor Curtis Bradley officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Hale Cemetery, 8701 Hwy 27 N, Berryville, AR 72616. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
