The filing period for municipal candidates seeking election in the Nov. 5 general election will begin at noon Wednesday, July 31, and continue for one week, ending at noon Wednesday, Aug. 7.
Municipal candidates must file their completed paperwork at the Carroll County clerk’s office in the Eastern District Courthouse in Berryville.
County Clerk Connie Doss said her office can help prospective candidates with the filing process.
“We’ve got packets that are available here at the office for prospective candidates to pick up,” Doss said. “It’ll have all their paperwork in it and then we help them with the number of signatures that they need.”
Doss said the clerk’s office also can provide prospective candidates with a list of registered voters, which can be helpful for candidates who need to get all of their signatures from voters in a particular ward or zone. Candidates and voters also can check voter registration information at voterview.ar-nova.org.
Individuals who want to vote in the Nov. 5 general election may register through Oct. 7. Doss said the clerk’s office will have representatives at the Carroll County Fair in August and Green Forest’s Agriculture Appreciation Days in September who can assist with voter registration as well as updating voter information.
