Emma Belle (Molder) Hemingway

Emma Belle (Molder) Hemingway of Bella Vista, Arkansas was born August 22, 1929, to Sammie and Thelma (Collier) Molder in Coin, Arkansas. Emma passed away Sunday, December 17, 2023, in Bella Vista at the age of 94.

Emma graduated from Green Forest High School after which she moved to California with her siblings. In May 1964 she married Glenn Hemingway in Vegas and they lived in California. She was a banker and an over the road truck driver. They moved back to Green Forest where they had bought 40 acres and raised cattle. She loved the outdoors and gardening. She loved to cook for others and volunteering with the Cowboy Church.

Emma worked as a bookkeeper for the First National Bank of Green Forest, later called Anstaff, for many years until she retired. She made beautiful quilts with her sister, Virginia, with whom she was very close. Her family was very dear to her.

Emma is survived by her three sons, Doug Hemingway (Susan) of Bella Vista, Arkansas, Dan Hemingway (April) of Frazier Park, California, and Randy Hemingway (Barbara) of Wadsworth, Ohio; one daughter, Suzanne Parodi (Mike) of Hayes, Virginia; four grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; three brothers, Dale, Larry, and Carroll Molder; one sister, Janet Patrick; other family members and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Sammie and Thelma Molder; husband, Glenn Russell Hemingway; brothers, Sam, Russell, and Roger Molder; sister, Virginia Molder; and grandson, Jamie Hemingway.

Memorial service will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 28, 2023, at Green Forest Cowboy Church with Pastor Doug Blevins officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Green Forest Cowboy Church, PO Box 883, Green Forest, AR 72638. Cremation arrangements under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
