The Berryville Lady Bobcats couldn’t make an early lead hold up as Elkins rallied for a 12-10 victory on Tuesday, March 26, at the Berryville Sports Complex.
Berryville led 6-0 after two innings, but Elkins scored three runs in the top of the third to cut the Lady Bobcats’ lead in half. The Lady Elks then broke through with eight runs in the fourth to take a 12-7 lead and held on for the win.
Junior Bailey Skelton had a pair of hits and an RBI for Berryville, while sophomore Ivie Bickel drove in a pair of runs and junior Taelor Tomlinson scored three times.
The Lady Bobcats’ six runs in the second came on a two-run single by Bickel, an RBI single by Skelton, bases-loaded walks by Lexi Pittman and Liz Heithold and a bases-loaded hit by pitch from Hannah Campbell.
Berryville lost 15-0 at Siloam Springs on Thursday, March 28, and 13-2 the following day at Huntsville before 1-2 over the weekend in a tournament at Harrison.
The Lady Bobcats lost to Huntsville 3-0 and to Lamar 12-0 but defeated Center Ridge 9-7.
Berryville will host Gentry on Tuesday, April 2, play at Flippin on Thursday, April 4, then return home to face Gravette on Friday, April 5.
