Dr. Michael Pakko, chief economist and state economic forecaster at the Arkansas Economic Development Institute (AEDI) at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, was the featured speaker at the Carroll County Economic Update Luncheon on Thursday, Sept. 19, at the Berryville Community Center. The event was presented by the North Arkansas College Foundation, the Berryville Chamber of Commerce and the City of Berryville. Pakko discussed the state’s economic performance relative to the national economy, covering topics such as consumer spending, personal income, inflation, the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy, labor market conditions and the outlook for the future.
