Multiple people were injured in a traffic accident that resulted in a man’s arrest Wednesday, Oct. 3, in Green Forest.
Green Forest police chief John Bailey said a van was stopped in the turning lane on U.S. Highway 62, preparing to turn left into the White Oak Station convenience store when an eastbound vehicle crossed the center lane and struck the van head-on.
A woman in the van suffered a broken arm and others in the van reported minor injuries, Bailey said. A passenger in the second vehicle was airlifted to a hospital in Springfield and initially was placed on life support, Bailey said, but made significant improvement by later in the week.
The driver of the second vehicle was arrested for driving while intoxicated and also was being held for immigration authorities, Bailey said.
