Donald (Don) Frank Burney of Berryville, Arkansas, peacefully passed away on Friday, December 20, 2024, at the age of 79 in Huntsville, Arkansas. Don was born May 8, 1945, in Prairie Grove, Arkansas, to Alfred and Grace (Dailey) Burney.

Don was united in marriage to Carolyn Doss on his birthday in 1964. He was a loving husband of 60 years, a father, and a devoted supporter of his grandkids. A man of unwavering work ethic, Don had a distinguished career with Carroll Electric Cooperative, where he worked for over 35 years. After retiring, he embraced the role of “Papa,” wholeheartedly supporting his grandkids. He was always there to pick them up from school, cheer them on in extracurricular activities, and be available at a moment’s notice. He was a member of the Jaycees, served on the Berryville Planning Commission, and was a member of the Green Forest United Methodist Church.

Don is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carolyn Burney; daughters, Dawnette King and her husband Jerry of Green Forest, Arkansas, and Jennifer Waller and her husband David of Berryville. He is also survived by his four grandchildren: Zachary Waller, Nora Waller, Hannah King and Allison King, as well as many other family and friends who will miss him deeply.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Grace Burney.

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. till 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 27, 2024, at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. following the visitation.
