Deena Ailene Tharp of Green Forest, Arkansas was born on December 17, 1949, in Lamar, Missouri, to Dudley Mack Divine II and Jackie Ruth (Perry) Divine. Deena passed away Monday, September 26, 2022, in Bentonville, Arkansas at the age of 72.
Deena asked the Lord into her heart in 1968 and was a member of the Green Forest Cowboy Church. Everything she did, she did well. She enjoyed fishing, sewing, quilting, ceramics, and raising a small garden. She also found joy with her little brood of chickens. She had many talents and was very crafty. She was also an avid reader and dedicated a lot of her time to the Green Forest Library. While her children were in school, she was a member of the PTA, 4-H, and several Bible studies. She loved and took such good care of her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was an amazing woman.
Deena is survived by her husband of 54 years, Kenny Joe Tharp. She is also survived by their children: Tana Whited and her husband Marty of Branson, Missouri, Tara Parton and her husband Michael of Mulvane, Kansas, Micah Tharp and his wife Becky of Green Forest, Arkansas, and Melea Fry and her husband Buddy of Green Forest, Arkansas; ten grandchildren: Baily Hendrickson, Erika Carroll, Aaron Whited, Justin Parton, Todd Parton, Nicholas Parton, Gavin Tharp, Kaitlin Powell, Kodee Powell, and Rhett Powell; great-grandchildren, Karis Hendrickson, Ezra Hendrickson, Nolan Parton, Josie Parton, and Alessio Parton; sister, Donna Meckfessel and her husband Nip of Bella Vista, Arkansas; lots of other family and friends who will miss her greatly.
She is preceded in death by her father, Dudley Mack Divine II; mother, Jackie Ruth Bobbitt; brother, Dudley Mack Divine III, and her step-father, Harold Bobbitt.
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m., Friday, September 30, 2022, at Nelson’s Green Forest Chapel. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 1, 2022, at the Green Forest Cowboy Church with Pastor Jim Goins, Pastor Michael Bolin, and Pastor Doug Blevins officiating.
