Deadlines near for tax payments, voter registration

Wednesday, Oct. 15, is the deadline for Carroll County residents to pay personal property and real estate taxes.

Taxes may be paid by mail, online, or in person.

To pay online, visit www.actdatascout. com/carrollar. There will be a 3 percent fee for the use of a credit/debit card.

To pay in person or to use the drop box, go to the Carroll County Tax Collector’s office in the courthouse annex at 108 Spring St. in Berryville. The office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The tax collector’s office can be reached by phone at 870-423-2867.

The deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 18 special election to decide on a proposed millage increase for the Green Forest School District is Thursday, Oct. 20.

This deadline applies to new registrants. Voter registration may be completed at the Carroll County Clerk’s Office in the Eastern District Courthouse in Berryville. Completed voter registration forms may be dropped off in the clerk’s office in the Western District Courthouse in Eureka Springs. Forms must be completed, signed and dated.

Voters who need to make address and/ or name changes may do so at any time, including on election day. Please allow more time when making these types of changes on election day.

To check your voter registration, visit https://www.voterview.ar-nova.org or visit the County Clerk’s website at: http:// carrollcounty.us/CountyClerk/#voterInformation. There you will find information on upcoming elections and sample ballots.

Early voting in the special election will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. from Wednesday, Nov. 12, through Friday, Nov. 14, and Monday, Nov. 17. Early voting will be available at 802 Broadway Ave. in Green Forest, which is a new early voting location. Election Day voting will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Green Forest.
