Why are you seeking this office, and what experience or perspective best prepares you to serve effectively?

“I am seeking re-election as County Judge because I care deeply about Carroll County and the people who call it home. I bring 19 years of experience working in and alongside the county road department, which has given me a practical, firsthand understanding of how county government operates and how decisions impact our communities every day. That experience has helped me develop a strong knowledge of our county’s infrastructure, budget priorities, and long-term needs. Having already served in this role, I understand the challenges Carroll County faces and have been actively working with other elected officials to address those needs responsibly. I am prepared to continue serving with experience, accountability, and steady leadership.”

What do you see as the most important issue facing your district right now, and what specific actions would you take to address it if elected?

“The most important issue facing Carroll County right now is funding. Like many counties, we are working to meet the needs of today while also preparing responsibly for the future. That means making sure essential services are maintained without placing unnecessary burdens on taxpayers. As County Judge, I have focused on being a careful steward of county resources by reviewing spending, prioritizing needs, and renegotiating contracts under the judge’s purview to save taxpayer dollars. Those efforts have already helped stretch our budget further, and that work will continue if I am re-elected. My goal is to keep Carroll County financially stable, prepared for growth, and positioned to meet future challenges without sacrificing fiscal responsibility today.”

How do you approach budgeting, taxpayer dollars and longterm financial responsibility at the level of government you are seeking to serve?

“As County Judge, my role in budgeting is not to control the entire county budget, but to help ensure the county operates responsibly within the budgets approved by the Justices of the Peace. I take that responsibility seriously by focusing on accountability, transparency, and sound financial practices in daily operations. Under my leadership, Carroll County has not run a deficit, and we have received strong federal and state audit reports, which reflect careful management of taxpayer dollars. Long-term financial stability requires discipline—making sure funds are spent as intended, monitoring contracts and expenses, and planning ahead without overspending. My approach is to respect the budgeting process while ensuring county government runs efficiently and responsibly for today and the future.”
