The Berryville Congregation of Community of Christ Church is now accepting applications for its 2024 Community Enrichment Grant opportunities. The purpose of these grants is to support community-based programs that promote positive changes in the lives of the people of Berryville and the Carroll County area.
While membership in Community of Christ is not a requirement, programs must offer services in a manner that is consistent with the Enduring Principles of Community of Christ (www. cofchrist. org/ enduring- principles).
According to Pastor Robb Wilcox: “After finding ourselves challenged by the COVID pandemic and closures necessary to keep our congregation safe and healthy, we have likewise been challenged to find new ways to celebrate our faith and sustain ourselves financially. 2023 tested us, yet we found that we had received God’s blessing through the generosity of each congregation member who shared both their time and their treasure. That generosity and commitment has made it possible to extend those blessings by making these grants available in our community. We have set funds aside for this program to support those non-profits that help people change their lives in a positive way, anything from lending financial support for education, to providing adaptive equipment that will allow a person with a disability to be gainfully employed, to support for building strong families, to addressing mental health issues, to a host of other ways that programs can help people make those changes that will transform the trajectory of their lives. We want to help people have high expectations for their lives and set goals that they are not only proud of but which they have faith that they can achieve. We invite other non-profits in the community to partner with us in lifting up this community in love.”
Maximum grant award for the coming grant cycle will be $5,000. Applications will be accepted through June 15, 2024 and awards will be made July 1, 2024.
