Community of Christ to offer Community Enrichment Grants

Posted

The Berryville Congregation of Community of Christ Church is now accepting applications for its 2023 Community Enrichment Grant opportunities.

The purpose of these grants is to support community-based programs that promote positive changes in the lives of the people of Berryville and the Carroll County area.

While membership in Community of Christ is not a requirement, programs must offer services in a manner that is consistent with the Enduring Principles of Community of Christ (www. cofchrist.org/enduring-principles).

According to Pastor Robb Wilcox, “Like so many churches, we have been challenged by COVID and the ways we have had to adapt to accommodate keeping our congregation safe and healthy. Like so many churches that have been closed in response to the pandemic, we have likewise been challenged to find new ways to celebrate our faith and sustain ourselves financially. As we finished 2022, we found that we had received God’s blessing through the generosity of each congregation member who shared both their time and their treasure, so much so that we want to extend those blessings by making these grants available in our community. We have set money aside for this program to support those non-profits that help people change their lives in a positive way, anything from lending financial support for education, to providing adaptive equipment that will allow a person with a disability to be gainfully employed, to support for building strong families, to a host of other ways that programs can help people make those changes that will truly improve their lives. We want to help people have high expectations for their lives and set goals that they are not only proud of but which they have faith that they can achieve. We are pleased to have this opportunity to partner with other non-profits to lift up this community in love.”

Maximum grant award for the coming grant cycle will be $5,000.

Applications will be accepted through March 15 and awards will be made May 1.

The Berryville Congregation is located at 503 Orchard in Berryville.
