As the 2025–2026 school year approaches, the City of Berryville is calling on the community to help support local students by donating essential school supplies.
While the Berryville School District generously provides most required classroom items, many students still need additional supplies such as backpacks, binders, water bottles, and headsets — and the city is stepping in to help fill that gap.
Donated items will be distributed to students during the August Second Saturday event on Aug. 9 on the Berryville Square, making it easy for families to pick up what they need before the school year begins.
“Our school district does an excellent job providing the majority of school supplies for students, which is an incredible support for families in our community,” said Julia Borkowski, the city’s director of public programs and community Engagement. “However, students still need backpacks, binders, water bottles, and — especially for elementary students — headsets. While these items may seem small, they can be a significant burden for some families. That’s why we are working to help ensure as many children as possible have what they need for a successful start to the school year.”
How to Help
• Donate supplies: Drop off new items at the Berryville Community Center front desk during regular business hours.
• Make a contribution: Monetary donations are also welcomed and will go toward purchasing needed supplies.
“Whether it’s one backpack or a bundle of water bottles, every donation helps make a difference,” the city said in a news release announcing the school supply drive. “Let’s work together to support our students and set them up for success this school year. Please share this message and help us spread the word!”
