The Culpepper & Merriweather Circus is coming to Green Forest on Monday, April 7.
The circus will be held on the lot behind the Rodeo Grounds located on West 6th Street, with shows at 5 p.m and 7:30 p.m.
The circus’ performances in Green Forest are sponsored by the Green Forest Chamber of Commerce. The show will feature Big Cats presented by Trey Key, aerialist extraordinaire Simone on the trapeze, the Perez Daredevil Duo on the Tight Rope and Wheel of Destiny, the high energy Macias family hand and foot juggling and everyone’s favorite circus clown, Leo Acton.
The circus day schedule begins at 9:30 a.m. with a tent raising and tour. Everyone is invited to watch the Big Top rise and also will have an opportunity to tour the grounds and get a behind-the-scenes look at the show. The Midway will open at 4 p.m., featuring pony rides, the Moon Bounce, a giant slide and face painting. The concession stand and box office also will open.
The first performance will start at 5 p.m., with the second show at 7:30 p.m. Each show lasts about 90 minutes.
Advance tickets are $13 for adults and $8 for children 2-12 or seniors 65 and up. They can be purchased at Green Forest City Hall/Water Department, La Favorita, J&D Asian Market or Cody Qualls Shelter Insurance. A higher percentage of advance tickets goes back to the sponsor, meaning more money back into the community. Advance tickets also mean you can skip the lines at the box office.
Box office tickets go on sale on the circus grounds starting one hour before each show. Box office prices are $16 for adults and $9 for for children 2-12 or seniors 65 and up.
